My father is dying and has left his home to my siblings and myself in his will. His name is the only name on the deed. What is the process of getting our names on the deed so we can avoid probate? Thanks
hi carole!
welcome to forums!
you can ask your father to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you and your siblings. if he does so, you'll be able to avoid probate. however, if he dies before signing the quit claim deed, then you will have to probate the will.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.
