My father is deceased now. He was not a law abiding citizen. In order to acquire property, he had to take my uncle's name. All the properties that he actually owned was in my uncle's name. But my father paid the mortgages. Now that he is deceased, I am the sole heir. How do I get the properties in my name?
Hi Guest,
Your father did not own any property in his name though he paid for the mortgages. Thus, you cannot claim heirship to any of the properties. Your uncle owns them. However, if your uncle wishes, then he can transfer the properties to you.
Take care

I agree you are going to have to get your uncle to cooperate - if he does not you are stuck - who is paying the mortgage now?
