If my spouse, who is on the note, dies, would I have to get a note in my name to pay off the house in order to keep it? I am on the deed, but not on the mortgage.

hi lamcgee,

your name is already on the property deed. it will be better if you could assume or refinance the mortgage in your name in order to pay off the mortgage and save the property.
