Can property be taken away from someone?

Posted on: 11th Feb, 2008 06:05 pm
My brother and I acquired property from our parents and title is under both of our names. I live with my mother in the house who is 88 years old and have been taken care of her since my dad died ten years ago. My sister and her husband feels that I shouldn't get the house after mom dies. Can they take it away from me? They received separate property from my parents which they sold soon after they got it. Am wondering if they are able to get my mom to sign something to get the house? Should I be concerned and get an attorney?
Hi Pauline, they can take it from you only if you sign any document related to property transfer. So, if they bring any such doc for you to sign, please read through the lines and then sign.

They cannot take it away from you unless you sign a deed transferring them a property interest.
