Do lawyers check your credit report for the deed/title for closing on a house?
Or only the mortgage company?
Or only the mortgage company?
lawyers are the advocates of the mortgage company and thus they will check it in order to safeguard the interest of the mortgage company.
If lawyer is a third party lawyer and has no connection whatsoever with the mortgage company then he may not even check it..
His duty is to asses that the deal is completed by the person who are authorised to conduct he deal. that's it!! if that purpose is solved he is safe with his stance...........

Hi Guest,
The lawyers and the mortgage company can check your credit report while closing on a house, but not for the purpose of checking the deed/title. A credit report has got no connection with the title to the property. It does not state whether you are on the title or somebody else.
