My parents purchased land and an existing mobile home. They have owned for 21 yrs. They recently had a fire and do not have the title with the Vin. How can we get a copy of the title. They have a deed to the land stating that they own all structures on the land, but not title. The title was cancelled to property, but insurance will not pay without the Vin and they never had a title. When searching for the title, it cannot be located by DMV. The home is a Mansion and the year is either 1968 - 1970. We Need Your Help Desperately. We live in North Carolina.

I think you should have a word with DMV and they may allow you to re-register the vehicle so that you can get the title. This may help you in claiming the insurance.
