How do family gain control of property when the owner/parent has died and left no other name on prop

we don't know what to do with our mothers house her name was the only name on property.
Hi S radney,

If her name is the only one on the title and she has left on will, the property will be divided according to the laws of intestacy applicable in state where the property is located. An affidavit of heirship needs to be filed with the probate court for this purpose.

These are questions that should be directed towards an attorney and not mortgage professionals.
