My father in law passed away and my mother in law wants to have her sole name on the title of the home. How do we go about this? Mortgage has been paid off.
Hi Vero!

Welcome to forums!

If the property was solely in the name of your father in law and if he hasn't left any will, then your mother in law can file an affidavit of heirship in the county recorder's office and transfer the property in her name.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
