title transfer

i purchased a repossessed ground set mobile home a little over five years ago. i recently went to my mortgage company to refinance; however, through the process i found out that they never changed the title to my name. the orginial lien holder is no longer in business and neither is the title company i went through. i called the dmv several times and every time i get a different answer on what i need to do to take care of this. does anyone out there no what i need to do to get this taken care of?
Hi kellycochran,

It's better if you can find the original owner and get a quitclaim deed signed by him. However, if he's no longer traceable, you can file a quiet title lawsuit in a court to clear the 'cloud' over the title.

Thanks,

Jerry
