I closed the deal on a REO property 4 months ago and have received a warranty deed. However, I still do not see my name is on county record. recently I received a tax bill from the county, it still shows that the owner of the property is the one (LLC -- the grantor when I closed the deal), my name is not on it. I am asked to pay the property tax.
Is there anything wrong? Can any one tell me what happen? What should I do in this case?
Thanks.

Hi tigerfamous,
I guess, the property deed has not been recorded in the county recorder's office. That's the reason why your name is not on the records. You need to contact the county recorder's office and get the deed recorded.
Take care.

Thank you for the info.
How could that happen? I am thinking about the two possible reasons:
1) the closing attorney did not send the closing record to the county's record office.
2) the county's record office has the title of deed, but has not recorded it yet.
Should not I contact the closing attorney first regarding this?
Thanks.
