Hi. I am beside myself. I moved out to Denver from California. My fiance and I bought a house. My money was the down payment. His name is on the loan and both of us are on the deed/title.
I dont want to be in the relationship anymore due to our issues. I relocated to here leaving my family. I have a lot of animals so renting an apartment really isnt going to work. He at first said he would leave and rent. Now he refuese to leave. Im locked in my bedroom because he has become such a terror.
How do I get my cash out? Should I get it and go. Should I leave it alone and look at it like an investment? Should I make him sale? I know he wont default on the loan.
Thanks in advance

Hi Jenna,
Since you are on the title to the property, you have legal ownership rights to the property. You cannot get the amount of down payment you have made to purchase the house. But you can definitely try and make him sell the house. If he is not willing to sell it, you may be able to file a partition lawsuit in the court. The court will then sell off the property and divide the proceeds among you and your fiancé. You can consult a lawyer in this regard.
