Hello, I purchased a home new from a company that has gone out of business. Oakwood- Richmond, Ky in 1999. The Scott county clerk's office has no record of the title on file and neither does the state motor transport office. The home sits on 5 acres that was given to me when I got married. I'm trying to sale the home but have been advised from the real estate agent that I will have to have the title to the home come closing time. I've gotten divorced since then and am currently overseas in Afghanistan. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get a title to sale my home and wrap up loose ends I'd greatly appreciate your time and your assistance. I do have the data plate for the home.
Respectully,
SSG Seivers, Jeff

Hi Jeff!
Welcome to forums!
It will be difficult for you to sell off the property if you don't have a title. You should contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in order to know how you might receive a title for the said property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

You should have been given the deed as part of the transaction closing. This is your title.
