If a property is in the name of a trust and that trust gives the property to me when i am 30 which i am. How can i get the deed for the property (duplex) in my name and not the trust name? I need it in my name so i can pay property taxes and not have it linked to the attached duplex which my sister lives on side me the other side. We want our property taxes separate. Since it is under one big trust we have to pay them all together as well as insurance. We are both over thirty years old and just want her side in her name and my side in my name. How can i do this?
Hi Guest,
You need to contact an attorney who will help you in drafting a deed which will help you separate the properties. Thus, you will own your portion of the property and your sister will own her portion of the property. Then both of you will be responsible for the taxes of the property individually.
Thanks
