I had a title search that shows a warranty deed. The lender states I still owe the seller. How do I correct this?
Hi Denise,
A warranty deed is a document that transfers the property title from one person to another. It does not state whether you owe anyone money. What makes the lender say that you still owe the seller? Is the property deed still in the previous owner's name? Does your name not show on the title? Please explain your situation in detail so I understand what the exactly the issue is.

you make no mention of an attorney. that's key. someone well-versed in real estate law can decipher what it is that the bank claims and what the existence of this warranty deed means.
i truly don't understand any of what this lender is asking of you. it would be most helpful to us if you provide much more detail; but it's of even greater value to you that you retain an attorney, if you haven't already, and pose that question to that attorney.
