Hi! When my husband and I bought the house 10 years ago I choose not the be on the tile. Now my husband want to add my name to the property. What do we need to do???
Go to your local title company and have them prepare and record the proper deed.
Hi Lida,
If the property is free and clear, then you can ask your husband to sign a warranty deed and add your name to the property deed. If there is a lien on the property, then he can use a quitclaim deed to transfer the property to you.
Thanks

The grantor has to execute a deed in their own name, plus the added person. If the property is mortgaged, the mortgagee or the company that holds the mortgage will want to ok the deal beforehand.
