I was never contacted about an affidavit of heirship filed when my mother's died. An oil rep. discovered the Affidavit during a lease title search and needed my signature to complete the lease agreement.
My mother has been gone 10 yrs. Was I entitled to receive her portion then also? Thanks -

Hi vaoneal,
If you had filed the affidavit of heirship after your mother's death, you would have become the sole owner of the property. Then you could have sold off the property or leased it accordingly.
