MY MOTHER LIVES IN MY GRANDMOTHERS PROPERTY, MY MOTHER RECENTLY HAD HER HOURS CUT AND FELL BEHIND ON THE PAYMENTS SO WE STARTED A MODIFICATION PROCESS WITH THE LENDER....DURING THE PROCESS WITCH REQUIRES MY GRANDMOTHERS BANK INFO. AND SIGNATURES SHE PASSES AWAY.....DO WE CONTINUE THE PROCESS? DO WE NOTIFY THE LENDER OF HER PASSING? HER WILL LEAVES MY FATHER AND ME AS HEIRS.....DO WE NEED A LAWYER?
having legal advice is a good idea, but you can also obtain counseling help through a hud-approved counselor (such as the urban league). look at the hud.gov website and search for "counselor" in your state. i'm sure you'll find several in your area who you can contact and request their help.

by all means continue the process - get some help though. your questions reflect the fact that you need someone qualified on your side to guide you through this quagmire.
