QUIT CLAIM DEED

Posted on: 22nd Feb, 2010 08:49 am
if someone was added to a deed using "quit claim deed" and then later moved all of their stuff out of the house can abandonment be used as a means to invalidate the "quit claim deed"?
Hi alh,

I do not think abandonment of the property would be considered as a means to invalidate the quit claim deed. The owner of the property will have to sign a quit claim deed in your favor and remove his/her name from the property deed. This will make you the owner of the property.

Thanks
