I would like to add my fiancee to the title of my house. Is a quick claim deed the way to go?...We already share the cost of the mortgage, under my name, and are not looking to change that portion of the process but would like his name to be on the title of the house. Is this the proper channel to follow?
yes, a quit claim deed is in order.
Hi mlmerkle!
Welcome to forums!
In order to add your fiance's name to the title of the property, you can use a quitclaim deed. You will be able to find sample quitclaim deed forms online but it is always advised to get the deed drafted by an attorney.
You should also remember that once the deed is filled out, it needs to be notarized and recorded at the county recorder's office.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
