My cousin gave me a house in Oakland Ca. I would like to add my name to the deed as a joint tenant so I can avoid reasessment. What form do I need? thanks
Hi ravenimp,

I believe a quitclaim deed will suffice to add your name to the deed. The person, presently holding the title, needs to sign the quit claim deed as grantor and transfer the title to both himself/herself and you. The verbiage used on the deed should include the fact that you own the property as joint tenants.
