QuitClaim Dee

Hi, cau u pls advice. We bought an apartment 6 years ago but under the names of our two sons, because in that time we were the owners of another apartment. This apartment was sold long time ago and now, we would like to be the "real" owners of that apartment were we are living and but belong "technically" to our sons. By the way, we have been paying the mortgage since the very beggining. The question is what are the steps to be done in order that we appear like the real owners and how much it will cost in terms of money about this transfer?
Thanks a lot in advance for your kindly and promt answer to this question.
Regards.

Hi Julio,

In order to add your name to property, your sons will have to sign a quitclaim deed. Once they sign a quitclaim deed, the deed needs to be notarized and recorded at the county recorder's office. you will have to pay the transfer fees and doc stamp fees for this purpose.

Thanks
