My husband and I bought a house and we put it in his name. We bought cash so no mortgage. We want to add my name to deed/title so that we are both on it. but the quit claim form for indiana (my state) doesn;t make it clear how to write 50% interest given, it only says "for the sum of"? How do we write this in the form with no money involved?
Hi claudia!
Welcome to forums!
When your husband fills out the quit claim deed, he should write his name as the grantor of the property while both your names would be mentioned as the grantee to the deed. This will make both of you 50% owner of the property. Alternatively, you can contact a real estate attorney and he will guide you in filling out the deed.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
