Quit Claim and Marriage

Posted on: 30th Apr, 2010 10:12 am
I bought a property when I was single, then got married and now want to add my wife to the property. Do I quit claim to her and myself on the same form? Do I quit claim to her and her to me on separate forms? I want both of us to be on the deed. I want to make sure the property doesn't go to probate in the event that I pass away. Thanks.
hi tom,

you will have to use a quit claim deed in order to add your name to the property deed. while you fill out the quit claim deed, you will have to write your name as the grantor of the property and both your name and your wife's name as the grantee to it. you can take the help of an attorney while filling out the form.

thanks
