How do I fill out the Quitclaim deed to add my wife to my mortgage?

Posted on: 11th May, 2010 09:54 am
We got married 3 years ago and we split our bills 1/2 and 1/2. When I refinanced my house they wanted an extra ~$1500 to put her name on the title because her credit wasn't as good as mine. At the advise of a friend I just refied under my name, and will now do a quitclaim deed to add my wife. (saves money)
I have the form but don't know what to write on it. Can anyone plz advise me?
thx, Dave
Hi davdimij,

As you want to add your wife to the deed, you will have to write your name as the grantor and both your name and your wife's name as the grantee. You can also contact a real estate attorney and he will help you in filling out the deed.

Thanks
