As part of a divorce settlement, I signed a quitclaims deed to settle my interest in the property. Will I be able to purchase a home for myself at a later date?

quit claim deed will no way affect your credit report
quit claim deed is asscoated with the property not the loan, so it will not affect you.
but if your name is also on the mortgage and if your ex keeps on makign the payment it will help you to build your credit or reverse if he defults it will affects your credit score also
good luck and feel free to ask

Hi jbgrig,
Signing a quitclaim deed does not affect your credit. By signing the deed, you can give up your interest in the property. But this, in no way, affects your credit. Thus, you will be able to purchase a home in your name after you sign the quitclaim deed.
