quit did claim fraud?

Posted on: 26th Feb, 2010 05:25 pm
hi,

when my parents refinanced the house in 2007, they added my name in the deed just incase something happens to them. i did not pay a cent for the house. i recently completed a quit deed claim in january 2010.

i am filing because i co-signed a car loan and it got re-poed, now i owe over 20k from the car and a collection agency lawyer is attempting to collect the debt.

what happens when i file for bankruptcy? is it fraudulent because i did a quit deed claim?
Hi imbroke!

Welcome to forums!

I don't think your bankruptcy would be considered as fraudulent. As the property deed has your name, it would be included as your asset in your filing. Your trustee will be able to sell it off in order to pay off your creditors.
