My ex-husband and I had judgment stauts only in 2007. Property and assets are now being dealt with at court. A month prior to separating from my ex, he signed a quick claim deed. There was no interest on our end for that property. Now my ex-husband claims we had a verbal contract that I give up our other properties and he not goes after the property he quit claimed on, it's my moms home. Further, he claims my intent was to give the property to my live-in boyfriend, so now he claims interest. My ex has put a hold on any sales or any transactions I want to do for my mother until the court decides on it, which court is coming up. Can he claim interest after he signed the quick claim deed?

Hi V,
The verbal contract will not be given any importance. If your ex-husband has signed a quit claim deed and transferred the property to you, then you would be considered as the owner of the property. He can't claim any interest in that property.
Thanks.
