My husband is about to close escrow on property this coming Monday. Today I was emailed a quitclaim deed. I am refusing to sign off any right to the property. He now claims that if I don't sign the deed it will affect closing, personally I don't him. He claims it's the title company requesting me to sign this form, once again I don't believe him. If the guy was up front and honest with me perhap we could have discussed the issue.
I guess my question is by me NOT signing well it affect escrow closing?

Hi alleygirl!
Welcome to Forums!
I think you reside in a community property state and your husband doesn't want you to claim any rights on the property he is purchasing. So he wants you sign a deed giving away the interests in the property. If you do not intend to claim any rights then you can simply sign off the deed. If in future he is unable to pay off the debts, you will not be liable for that.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
