There is a property that my grandfather, whom is now deceased, has been paying the taxes on for over 40 years, however the land was not in his name. His great uncle wife name, whom is now deceased, was on the property. My Uncle is living and agree to transfer the property to me via quick claim. Is this legally binding? is this property considered as air property.
Hi Peaches,
Welcome to the forums.
If your uncle is trying to quitclaim the property to you, first of all, he should remove the great aunt's name from the title and add yours by filing an Affidavit of Heirship. Also, if you'll be paying the property taxes in your name, then you'll have to make the tax assessor aware of it.
