Hi
Me and my hub applied to our mtg bank and requested that I be added on the deed..the bank sent a tranferre and tranforer form and copies of homeowners, original deed and for a fee they will add my name..we have one more payment on the loan and want this done before the lien is sent to the county in error..on one side of the deed the typed part my name is there from the county but in the written it is not..The bank will do if for a fee of 100 dollars but today they requested a mortgage deed from the original bank..it has changed now..I amnot sure what that is..did we get that at closing..the mtg was just in his name..why do they want that when there is only one more pymt due on the acct..this last payment is due now..and we are holding off..dont want the final documents sent out in error..what is the document they want..a mortgage deed..iam lost..
thanks..we have a few day deadline before my final pymt will be late..and we have always been on time..help..asap

Hi Teri!
As far as I can understand from your question, you are left with only one payment after which your mortgage payments will be over. If that is the case then you can simply pay the last dues and then sign a quitclaim deed and add your name to the title of the property. You will only be required to pay about $10 for the stamp docs. There is no need to include the bank in it and I think they are making the things complex. You can simply consult an attorney and your work will be done.
Thanks.
