i purchased a home in nov.07, and in feb. 08; i did a tenenacy quit claim deed with my husband and also my name on it. now we are going thru a seperation, and when i asked him to leave; that's when he brought up the quit claim deed; and stated i don't have to leave. we went thru the same lawyer that helped me to get my home, but i now see that i did not fully understand clearly about a quit claim deed. what can i do?
Hi,
In my opinion, you should check out the quitclaim deed properly. If you have given away the property to your husband by signing the quitclaim deed, (i.e if your husband's name is mentioned as the grantee to the property), then he will have full rights to the property. You can also speak to your lawyer who can explain the quitclaim deed to you.
Thanks
