I am going thru a divorce and my husband wants me to sign a quit claim to give him our house we both are on the mortg. for. I put 30k down and he is offering me 15K and wants me to sign a quit claim. No kids, short marriage. Should I sign one to get out. Will it hurt my credit? help??
Hi Kim gibson!

Welcome to forums!

Signing a quitclaim will only remove your name from the property title. You will still be on the mortgage. If you quitclaim the property to your husband, make sure that he refinances it. I don't think it will hurt your credit but I would like to ask if you have put 30k down for the property, then why will you be accepting 15k? Why not the whole amount?

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
