question about liens on a quit deed

Posted on: 12th Sep, 2008 01:11 pm
my in law quit deed their property to us.we just found out that there was a line of credit opened against the property for $10000.our in laws have both passed away.
are we responsible for the $10000.whats our best course of action.
Hi Kenduman,

Welcome to forums.

You are not legally responsible for the line of credit but if you want to prevent a lien from being placed on your property, then I suggest that you pay off the loan.

Thanks
