My lawyer did not file a quick claim deed to the home I was awarded in my divorce in 2003 (state of TN). I am now wanting to sell the home and cannot locate the ex-husband to sign a quick claim deed. What are my options?
I am ready to put the house on the market and don't want to wait months to attempt to go through the Chancery Courts.

Hi kelli,
It would have been better if your lawyer could have filed the quitclaim deed when it was signed by your ex-husband. In my opinion, you should contact your lawyer and check out what steps you should take. You can contact your county recorder's office and check out whether or not you can file that deed now and transfer the property in your name.
