Realtor wants quitclaim deed and POA

Posted on: 02nd Oct, 2010 12:19 pm
Grandparents left property to children in Alabama; since only 2 out of 8 are still alive, they're ready to sell property. Realtor wants quitclaim deed and a power of attorney (POA) - why does she need both and not just the POA? Will quitclaim deed mean I am signing away my interest in the property?
hi motownlady,

when you sell off the property, you will have to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to the new owners. unless you do so, the new owners will not be able to get the property transferred in their names.
