My inlaws signed over a piece of property during our marriage using a quitclaim deed. Now that we are preparing to go through a divorce, he signed it back over to them in the same way. Do I need to sign off as well and thus imply I have a marital interest in the property or does he alone have to quitclaim the property back to them? I had to sign a quitclaim to property he owned with his ex-wife when we were married even though I had nothing to do with it.
Hi fireweather,
If your name is mentioned on the property deed and if you don't wish to get anything out of that property, then you can sign a quitclaim deed over to them.
Thanks
