my husbands ex is not paying the mortage payments and he signed a quit claim and released himself from the house in the divorce , is he liable for the payments now ???
just signing the quit claim won't work as far as mortgage is concerned.Quitclaim will only take care of the deed not mortgage so I think it should be somewhat necessary to nullify the mortgage liability by refinancing the payment on your husband's ex's name only.

unless the mortgage on that home has been refinanced, he is liable for payments under the note.
