does a dollar amount of the property have to be on the quit claim deed for it to recorded?...the quit claim deeds are being executed as a result of a divorce. different properties are being deeded to each party by the other party. these properties were exchanged between parties based on dollar amount, but no money is changing hands. the properties were each being held as joint husband and wife before the divorce
Hi stehli,
As far as I know, you will have to mention a minimum dollar amount while recording the quitclaim deed. However, a real estate attorney will be the best person to help you out in this regard.
Thanks

In my opinion you can put annexure for that and mention the money over there because there won't be any confusion in later stage about the actual value of the property and thus you will be safe as well as it is good for both the parties.
