Can my mother us her durable power of attorney to quit claim my father’s half of the house to her? He will be going title 19 in a few months and we want to protect the house. They live in CT. We have been told that this may be considered a gift but that was not the case ten year ago in Florida when my mother’s uncle quit claimed his house to me.
Thanks very much,
Thanks very much,
Hi pcc!
Welcome to forums!
If your father has given a POA to your mother, then she can transfer your father's share of the property in her name. She may even contact a real estate attorney and take his/her opinion in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
