My mother-in-law and father-in-law bought a home, which my husband and I lived in .. the provided the down payment and were making the motgage payments. while they were parying the actual mortgage, I was contribiting monies into the houshold for everyday upkeep. in 1983 my father-in-law became ill, being elderly and unemployed, my father-in-law and mother-in-law couldn't obtain a loan, so in order to pay the medical bills, my husband and I were quitclaim deeded onto the tiltle and we refinaced for them. now that the home is payed off, i am currently in the middle of a dicorce, what rights do I now have to the property and monies of the home.
Hi secondchancetostart500,
Welcome to mortgage fit,
As you are on the title currently, what is the percentage equity you have in the home? So as per the prevailing % equity you would be getting your share and you may get a lump sum alimony amount for the child support or a monthly payment towards the child support.
Feel free to ask any further query if you have...........
