I purchased a home with my ex-fiance, broke off the engagement and quit claimed the house to her. We signed an agreement that I would be held harmless of any liabilities having to do with the house after she refinanced it in September. I received an escrow payoff check from then lender made out in both of our names. I feel half of the escrow is mine, because I paid into it. My ex-fiance is threatening to take me back to court saying that the entire check should be hers.
Do I have rights to this money?

Hi Reeno1971,
Welcome to mortgage fit,
I am sure that this amount should be distributed equally but as far as law is concerned currently her name is on the title and thus she is the right person to deal with all the proceedings....
You can't do anything with legal battle. You are better advised to settle down with whatever you get...By the way whose name this check has been issued?
Feel free to ask any further query if you have.......
