I am recently divorced and my ex-husband's attorney sent me( I'm Pro-Se) a quitclaim deed to property I was awarded. My question is, who is legally responsible for filing/recording the deed and the costs involved with that?
Hi Gina!
Welcome to forums!
If you become the owner of the property, then you should notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office. If you're unable to bear all expenses, then you may ask your ex-husband to bear some of it. However, it will be his discretion whether or not he will do it.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
