I may be party to a lawsuit if I transfer via quit claim?

can they take my home if I sign the quit claim to my hubby's name only? I know I will still be responsible for the mortgage.
Welcome to the forums!

Possibly, it is best to consult an attorney and have them read your mortgage and check local laws.

Best of luck!

Hi tmashe,

Welcome to the forum.

You should not quitclaim to your husband without informing your lender.

Can you please inform about your situation a bit more :)

hi tobereal2001,

removing yourself from title can definately cause problems. i would suggest just adding your husband to title. or if you do remove yourself from title, then have him refinance the mortgage in only his name. you have to be on title to have a mortgage on it.
