Am I entitled to profit in sale of house?

Posted on: 20th Dec, 2008 08:00 pm
i was added on a title through a quit claim deed. i have moved out of the house. when house is sold how is profit shared. i am not on the mortgage, i do not contribute any money to mortgage. does that make a difference? can i force him to sell house?
Hi tinapolito!

Welcome to forums!

Though your name is not on the mortgage docs, you are still one of the owners of the property as you were added to the property deed. Though you have not paid anything towards the mortgage of the property, you can still claim your share of the property as you are on the property deed. I don't think you will be able to force him to sell off the property.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
