two quit claim deeds same property, mom quit claim deed property to me in 92, for $40,000.00. asked me to hold the deed until her death because prents were afraid after dad died they though my brother woud con her out of her money and property, he did just that. brother moved in with her in 05, would not allow her to talk to or see me. he filled out a quit claim deed and had her sign it for $1.00 in 06. the family did not know this. he filed his quit claim deed and put a mortgage on it for $69,000.00, is this legal for mom to sign two quit claim deeds? whos is the real deed? i know she was of sound mind but he is very convincing and forceful. i did not know he had this quit claim deed or the loans he put on the mortgage. until after death when i filed mine.
who owns the land, what should i do?
quit claim deed is legal if
1 it is notaarized
2 registered at local country's office.

if your deed is registered, it will be legal otherwise not.

Hi las!

Welcome to forums!

You've mentioned that your mother has transferred the property to you with the help of a quit claim deed in the year 1992. I hope the property deed is notarized and recorded at the county recorder's office. This will make you the owner of the property. You can challenge the legality of the deed that your brother has. You can even contact an attorney and get his opinion in order to proceed further in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
