i was in distress trying to avoid foreclosure for my property and i was told by a person that they would be willing to help save my home if i added them on to the deed so of course i went throught with adding them on. the person did not peform the task as they were suppose to and now i am wanting to have this person removed from the deed/title. i attempted to reach out to the person several times in hopes that we could have the paperwork done to have then removed but i have not received a response from this person and they can no longer be found. what is the most cost efficient way i can have this person removed from the quit claim deed?
Hi LZ, I was actually about to post on a very similar situation. I'm wondering if it's possible to have a person's interest in a property removed/elliminated without their permission, if they don't live in the property. Hopefully someone can kill two birds with one stone here.
Hi LZ and kylebartow,
The person whom you added to your property deed needs to sign a quit claim deed in order to remove his or her name from the property. You cannot remove a person's interest in the property without their permission.
