is a quitclaim a gift? this is in relation to community property. does a quitclaim to one spouse become community property or is it considered a gift to the one spouse?
Hi donregister!
Welcome to forums!
If you quitclaim a certain portion of the community property to your spouse, it will become the property of your spouse. As far as I know, that will not remain a community property any more because you are giving away your interest in the property by a quitclaim deed to your spouse.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
