Do I need a new grant deed or a quit claim deed or interspousal transfer deed?

Posted on: 25th Nov, 2009 09:38 am
My soon-to-be husband and his ex owned a piece of land with his friends (husband and wife). The ex has signed a interspousal transfer deed to him. Now he wants to add my name to the title. What type of deed do we need? Can he just quit claim his interest to himself and me or all three of them have to sign? Should we wait until we are married and use the interspousal transfer deed?
Thanks
Hi kngo,

I hope your soon-to-be husband's ex-wife is presently not on the property deed as she had signed an interspousal transfer deed in his name. In that case, your soon to be husband and his friends will have to sign a quit claim deed and add your name to the property deed.
