statue of limitations/claim on home quit claim 3 1/2 yrs ago

Posted on: 14th Jul, 2010 05:23 pm
Our daughter bought a townhouse in 2002. In 2004 before getting married, she quit claim and put it to me & my hubby' name. My hubby is unemployed since 2003 till now. after a year in end of 05 he quit claim and put it in myame. I alone couldn't affor it's mortgage and signed quit claim and put it to my other 2 kids name in Jan. 2007.

Now me and my hubby are seperating, will soon file a divorce. Can he claim his rights of ownership on that town house? Is there any statue of limitation for claiming on it? If yes, how many years?

Thanks,
Parsi
Hi Parsi!

Welcome to forums!

Your husband's name is not mentioned on the property deed now. It is in the name of your kids. In that case, your husband will not be able to come after the property and claim the rights of ownership.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
