I bought my house before I was married and my ex was never added to the deed or mortage, do I have to get a Quitclaim Deed before I sell my house so he doesn't get any money from the sale?
Hi jessica,
As your ex-partner's name is not mentioned on the present property deed, you won't have to get a quitclaim deed from him. You can sell off the property on your own and he can't claim any money from you.
Thanks

yes, james is right. quit claim deed is needed when there are several parties involved in a single property, where any one of them wants to cede his/her ownership rights to others mentioned in the tile/property transfer deed.
